Using the Rejuvapen micro-needling device, this one of a kind, painless treatment creates thousands of tiny micro-channels in the skin to aid the deeper penetration of active ingredients.

This enhanced diffusion of epidermal growth factors, antioxidants and other active ingredients goes to work directly on the targeted layers deep within the skin. A superficial skin peel and advanced cosmeceutical products further enhance this process to stimulate collagen growth, boost hydration levels, combat free radical damage and encourage skin renewal.  This avant-garde facial both prevents and corrects the appearance of skin aging for a fresh, glowing complexion.

  • The Condition Skin Aging

Skin aging is a degenerative process caused by intrinsic (chronological) and extrinsic (environmental) aging. These factors contribute to the visible signs of skin aging. These include:

    • A loss of skin firmness and laxity
    • Fine lines and wrinkles
    • Sun damage and hyper-pigmentation
    • Irregular skin tone and texture
    • Large pores
    • Dry skin
    • Loss of facial volume

Intrinsic aging is a natural process, determined by internal factors and is programmed by our genes.  Unfortunately, we have very little control over this. Extrinsic aging, also known as photo-aging, is caused by external factors that we are regularly exposed to and can be prevented or minimized.  External elements such as sunlight, pollution, nutritional intake, smoking, stress and lack of sleep are among the most common factors. The single biggest culprit is the sun!

Skin aging causes the surface layers of the skin, known as the epidermis, to thin and the number of melanocytes, the pigment producing cells, to decrease. In addition, in sun exposed areas the remaining melanocytes increase in size. This leads to the skin appearing thinner and more pale, with large pigmented areas known as age spots, lentigos or liver spots.  The production of oil slows down causing dryness and the blood vessels become more fragile, increasing the incidence of bruising and other related conditions. Loss of fat under the skin becomes evident in areas such as the cheeks, temples, chin, nose and eyes. This is the basis for a more ‘skeletal’ appearance with loosened skin and sunken eyes. Collagen and elastin are the fibres that give our skin its structure and the breakdown of these leads to lines, wrinkles and a loss of elasticity resulting in skin sagging.

The sun’s harmful rays are the main culprit behind many of these skin changes and although these effects can not be completely undone, with the correct skin care and advanced clinical treatments, they can be significantly reduced.  The skin remembers every hour of sun it’s been exposed to, and although the effects don’t show while we are young, it’s extremely important to protect your skin throughout your whole life.

  • What does the treatment involve

This individualized anti-aging treatment begins with a thorough skin consultation and skin analysis.

Emphasis is placed on a treatment and home-care program as well as dietary recommendations to help you reach your anti-aging goals and help slow down the aging process.  Your treatment is specifically designed for your own individual aging symptoms and concerns.

Taking your concerns into consideration a precise collection of the latest advanced machines, skin peels, specialist massage techniques and cosmeceutical products will be combined to deliver dramatic results. Using the Rejuvapen micro-needling device, this one of a kind  treatment creates thousands of tiny micro-channels in the skin to aid the deeper penetration of active ingredients. The Anti-Aging Facial is individual to you and may differ with each subsequent appointment depending on your concerns and your skin’s health.

Long term results and skin maintenance are achieved by continued regular advanced clinical treatments and accompanied by a preventative, corrective and protective home-care regime.

*The Rejuvapen’s micro-needles are set at a length of 0.3mm for the Anti-Aging Facial, compared to the 1.5mm used when performing Rejuvapen Micro-Needling. The difference in needle length provides a completely different method of action in the skin. The shorter length creates micro-channels in the skin, for a ‘funnel’ like effect, allowing for enhanced penetration of active ingredients.  The longer length micro-needles, 1.5mm, cause a micro-wound in the deeper layers of the skin. This causes a cascade of the wound healing response, which leads to the stimulation of collagen growth and therefore a reduction in lines and wrinkles, scarring and an improvement in skin texture.

Our Advanced Clinical Clarifying Acne Facial is an intensive treatment scientifically formulated to improve skin clarity and reduce acne blemishes, whilst soothing redness and inflammation. By changing the skin’s environment, this treatment programme targets the four key contributing factors that lead to the development of acne.

Find Out More about The Advanced Clinical Clarifying Acne Facial:

  • What does the treatment do?

    • Reduces oil production– prevents oily skin and helps prevent blackheads & whiteheads developing
    • Reduces skin thickening– normalises skin cell production, preventing the backlog of dead skin cells that lead to the development of blackheads & whiteheads
    • Controls and reduces acne bacteria– helps prevent inflammation that leads to breakout
    • Calms and soothes inflammation– reduces acne scarring risk and unsightly inflamed spots

    • Reduces excess sebum that leads to a greasy, oily skin
    • Removes blackheads and whiteheads, dead skin and other impurities
    • Diminishes existing acne
    • Helps prevent new break out
    • Helps improve skin’s texture
    • Helps reduce acne scars and post acne hyper-pigmentation
  • The Condition: Acne

Acne is a common skin condition that involves the hair follicle and its associated sebaceous (oil) gland. It is commonly characterised by papules that are referred to as ‘spots’. The spots can range from comedones (blackheads & whiteheads) which are often mild, to inflamed pus filled lesions such as papules, pustules and nodules (cysts). Inflamed acne is more severe and can lead to scarring. The most common type of acne is known as acne vulgaris. Although acne is not dangerous, it does have far reaching social and psychological effects.

Acne is caused by the skin’s sensitivity to a fluctuation in hormones. The skin reacts by causing a fatty acid depletion which upsets the protective barrier on the surface of the skin. The skin tries to counteract this by producing excess oil to rebuild the depleted barrier. The skin starts to thicken and normal skin shedding slows down. The combination of these two factors causes an accumulation of dead skin cells and oil within the pore. This plug or blockage is known as a comedone. The acne bacteria, P.acnes, which is naturally present on the skin, builds up under the comedone causing inflammation which leads to the formation of papules, pustules or cysts. It is important when treating acne to address each of these contributing factors and not just treat the symptoms.

  • What does the treatment involve

The Advanced Clinical Clarifying Acne Facial begins with a thorough skin consultation, concentrating on helping you understand what is contributing to your acne so it can be treated accordingly. Emphasis is placed on both dietary and skin care advice to help you reach your goal of a clearer complexion. Your treatment is then designed specifically for your acne symptoms and skin concerns. The severity of your acne, the amount of inflammation present and the strength of your skin’s barrier function determine the approach that is taken when designing your treatment.

A combination of the latest advanced superficial skin peels and cosmeceutical products is considered. These advanced techniques smooth the skin’s texture, promote healthy cell renewal, remove impurities and excess oil and help calm inflammation to facilitate healing. Most importantly, attention is placed on extensive extractions followed by the use of a high frequency machine to help clear existing spots whilst helping to prevent post facial break out. Additionally, the skin is detoxified by a gentle lymphatic drainage massage which helps to transport away toxins and bacteria to help regenerate the damaged tissue. The Advanced Clinical Acne Facial is individual to you and may differ with each subsequent appointment depending on your concerns and your skin’s health.

NB Once your acne is under control, Derpamen Micro-Needling can be performed to combat acne scarring, reduce pore size and improve skin texture. This also has the added benefit of helping to treat and prevent skin aging.

Long term results and skin maintenance are achieved by continued regular advanced clinical treatments accompanied by a preventative, corrective and protective homecare programme.

The Advanced Clinical Pigmentation Treatment

The Treatment

The Advanced Clinical Pigmentation Treatment is a customisable brightening facial designed to help improve photo damaged skin, melasma – the ‘mask of pregnancy’ and post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation caused by acne lesions.

This clinical treatment combines an advanced skin peel, vitamin C serum and other antioxidants and lightening ingredients to reduce melanin production and help break down existing pigment.  Not only does this treatment improve the appearance of hyper-pigmentation, help fight free radical damage and brighten the complexion but it also helps stimulate collagen production to help tighten the skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

NB  Prior to a peel, the skin will need to be prepared with certain products for a minimum of two weeks to ensure optimum and predictable results are achieved through the peeling process.

Find Out More about Advanced Clinical Pigmentation Treatment:

  • The Benefits of The Advanced Clinical Pigmentation Treatment

    • Improves the appearance of hyper-pigmentation and dullness by exfoliating surface skin cells
    • Helps lighten brown spots and even out skin tone
    • Decreases the frequency of acne breakouts and fades the appearance of post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation
    • Stimulates collagen production to reduce signs of photo-aging, including fine lines and wrinkles
    • Softens and smooths the skin’s texture
    • Increases radiance
  • The Condition: Pigmentation

The colour of our hair and skin is predominantly due to the amount of brown melanin pigment produced by our melanocyte cells.  The amount of melanin present is determined by our natural skin colour (white, brown or black) and by photo-type, which is the skin’s response to UV exposure, or tanning.

An increase in melanin (hyperpigmentation) can be caused by an increased number of melanocytes (pigment cells) or from increased production of the melanin pigment. The opposite of this (hypopigmentation) is caused by a decrease in melanin.

Melanin’s job is to protect the body from damaging ultraviolet light which Is why those with hypopigmentation conditions, such as albinism, need to take extra care to protect their skin from the sun’s harmful rays.

The sun, genetics, medication and skin aging are the main factors that influence skin pigmentation.  These factors can cause melanin to distribute unevenly in the skin and accumulate at the surface of the epidermis causing uneven skin pigmentation.  Unsightly dark spots or a diffused pigmentation form on the surface of the skin.

  • Types of pigmentation

    • Lenitgo also known as ‘age spots’ are due mainly by the intrinsic aging of the skin.
    • Solar lentigo is caused by considerable, regular sun exposure.
    • Melasma is pigmentation concentrated across the cheeks and nose and is generally due to hormone imbalances and can be caused by medication or sun exposure during pregnancy.  This is known as the ‘mask of pregnancy’.
    • Ephelides or ‘freckles’  are clusters of concentrated melanin.  Although freckles are genetic they are triggered by exposure to sunlight and are sometimes known as ‘Liver Spots’.
    • Post-inflammatory pigmentation occurs following acne and is due to excess melanin caused by inflammation.
  • What does the treatment involve

The Advanced Clinical Pigmentation Facial begins with a thorough skin consultation where emphasis is placed on helping you understand what is contributing to your pigmentation, how to treat it and just as importantly, prevent it reoccurring or worsening.   Your treatment is then designed specifically for your skin type, skin colour and pigmentation concerns. The severity of your pigmentation, your skin’s health and any other concerns you may have determine the type of skin peel selected.

After a thorough cleansing the skin is prepped and the chosen skin peel is applied.  The optimised combination of ingredients helps reduce melanin production in the skin and also helps to break down existing pigment. Once the peel has been neutralized a bespoke Vitamin C Firming Masque is applied.  This masque is mixed with antioxidants and further skin lightening serums to help fight free radical damage, tighten the skin and continue the lightening process. The skin is detoxified by a gentle lymphatic drainage massage which helps to transport away toxins and bacteria to help regenerate any damaged tissue and further brighten the skin.

NB Prior to a peel, the skin will need to be prepared with certain products for a minimum of two weeks to ensure optimum and predictable results are achieved through the peeling process.

  • Downtime

After the Advanced Clinical Pigmentation Facial you may notice that the skin is more red than usual for up to two hours afterwards.  The skin may feel tight or dry and you may experience mild flaking in certain areas for a few days. Rarely, you may experience crusting of the skin or swelling.

NB A reactivation of cold sores is possible so please see your Doctor for a course of prophylactic medication prior to treatment.

  • How many treatments do I need?

A course of 4-6 treatments is recommended to obtain desired and realistic results.

Each treatment should be spaced approximately 2 weeks apart.

A maximum of two treatment courses is recommended within a one year period with a three month break in between each course.

To obtain optimal results you must adhere to an anti-pigmentation focused skincare programme and be extremely strict with sun protection, wearing a minimum SPF 50 broad spectrum sunscreen daily.

Long term skin maintenance is achieved by regular clinical facials and accompanied by a preventative, corrective and protective homecare regime.
